Create Music Group, the fastest growing privately held music and media company in the U.S., announced today that it has named industry veteran Chris Herche to the newly created position of SVP, Music Operations and Marketing at the company. In his new role Herche will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s music division which distributes and markets more than 25,000 artists and 5,000 label clients around the world.

“Chris brings with him a wealth of experience and passion in the independent music sector both as an executive and as a label owner,” said Jonathan Strauss, Founder and CEO of Create Music Group. “His deep marketing expertise will be invaluable to our artist and label clients as we continue to expand our operations around the world.”
Mr. Herche joins Create Music Group from Cinematic Music Group, where he was Chief Marketing Officer, leading the company’s marketing strategy for the past five years, helping to drive the company’s dramatic growth. Previously he served in a number of positions at Entertainment One, rising to Vice President of Digital Marketing and A&R. He began his career two decades ago at RCA Records where he served in various positions, Product Manager, Head of Tour Marketing and Digital Product Manager. Since 2011 he has also run his own independent record label, Vicarious Records, a company which started as a marketing firm and shifted into a record label focused on artists from the Cincinnati/Kentucky area.

Mr. Herche will be based in Brooklyn, New York.
