Cumulus Media and Chicago Alternative Rock station Q101 will join The Strokes in support of gun violence prevention, when on-air host Brian Phillips welcomes Julian Casablancas of The Strokes and Kina Collins, Congressional candidate in Illinois’ 7th District, for an in-studio discussion of what can be done to lessen the growing gun violence in Illinois. Listen to this discussion on Q101 at 5:00pm today or on-demand at https://www.101wkqx.com/ after 6:00pm.
The in-studio interview will take place just hours before The Strokes play an intimate Chicago show in support of Kina Collins at The Metro tonight at 8:00pm. It will be the first time in 20 years that the band has performed at the venue.
Collins is running for Congress in the upcoming primaries, which take place on June 28th, representing Illinois’ 7th District. The congressional candidate is a Democratic candidate and a gun violence prevention candidate. In her career so far, she has led the largest gun violence prevention nonprofit in Illinois and sat on the Biden-Harris transition team’s task force on gun violence.
