Pop music’s new nucleus – Honua Music’s Producers Andreas ‘Axident’ Schuller and Gladius – have had their end-title track to the Fate of the Furious help set the tone to the biggest global film opening this past week. “Don’t Get Much Better” featuring Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign and Sage the Gemini was written by the duo with Johnny Yukon and Gizzle, and it can be found both in the Universal Pictures film and on the Warner Bros. music soundtrack.
EW said, “…Jeremih, Ty Dolla Sign, and Sage the Gemini’s R&B ear candy “Don’t Get Much Better” provide the album with its biggest pop moments…” and Hip Hop DX called out the track as“…What’s most exciting is the number of collabs that appear on the track listing.”

Double GRAMMY nominees Axident and Gladius worked on the foundation tracks – “We bounced” out our disco riff to a two track and treated it as a sample,” said Axident – working with Johnny Yukon and Gizzle, with additional production by DZL and Ricky Reed. Recording it in LA, the song is in the closing scene highlighting the storyline of the strength of the Fast family. A self-described “ultimate hip hop barbeque jam,” the song is sure to be the new hit of summer.

This is the second collaboration between Axident, Gladius and Sage the Gemini, who’s “Now and Later” was a worldwide hit for creative trio. “We didn’t set out to write this song for the movie,” said Axident about “Don’t Get Much Better.” “We started this session looking to try to make a disco-sounding guitar hook and instrumentation, balanced it out as a song, then brought it back into the track and sampled it. We wanted to chop it up.
“Gizzle and Johnny started working with it and that’s when, I think it was Gizzle, came up with the line ‘it doesn’t’ get much better than this.’ What we ended up making is the ultimate barbeque jam. It’s happy lyrics sung over a tinge of a sad melody, you went through something and now you’re here, stronger together. It doesn’t get much better than this.”

Axident just returned from a writer’s camp sponsored by Music Norway in his home country where he hosted songwriters Evan Bogart, Ilsey Juber, JHart and Lindy Robbins. A partner in the independent music publishing and management company Honua Music, Axident is the force behind the U.S. “Beet Retreat” and “Start from Infinity” sessions that spawned “Now and Later” for Sage the Gemini, “Wiggle” for Jason Derulo, “Fireball” for Pitbull and more.
