Expectations are getting higher as “Premio Lo Nuestro Latin Music” (PLN), Univision Network announced two new music acts for live broadcast on Thursday, February 18th from 7 pm ET / PT (6pm Central) from American Airlines Arena.
In what will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting moments of the night, Pitbull opens the show with Robin Thicke, popular American singer of R & B, and Joe Perry, lead guitarist of the renowned American rock band Aerosmith will present simple “Bad Men” from the stage of “Premio Lo Nuestro,” the longest running tribute to Latin music and most popular awards program among Hispanics in the United States.
In a tribute to Carlos Vives, singer and composer of international renown who will receive the prestigious “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia” this year, will meet on stage for a memorable presentation featured artists and Colombian players, including Juan Pablo Angel , J Balvin, Jorge Celedon, ChocQuibTown, Silvestre Dangond, Fonseca, Juanes, Maluma, Faryd Mondragon, Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama and Mario Alberto Yepes, and former Miss Universe Paulina Vega.
You will also receive a special award for his career, the “Lifetime Achievement Award”, the Regional Mexican singer Paquita la del Barrio, in recognition of nearly half a century of stellar performance.
Celebrities present awards at the ceremony include some of the nominees of the evening: Ha * Ash, candidate group or duo of the year in the pop / rock category; Sofia Reyes, nominated revelation of the year under the general category; Regulo Caro, nominated for Song of the Year in the category of regional Mexican music, and Rene Camacho’s landslide Banda el Limón, the band nominated for artist of the year and group or duo of the year in the category of regional Mexican music group; and multiple TV celebrities such as actor Daniel Arenas, actresses Jackie Bracamontes and Marlene Favela, actors and singers Sandra Echevarria and Diego Boneta, a former Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez, as presenters Univision Chiquinquirá Delgado and Alejandra Espinoza , and radio hosts the Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Raul Brindis.
Galilea Montijo and Arath de la Torre will be in charge of the celebration and ceremony, in which musicians will be recognized in five categories: general, pop, tropical, regional Mexican and urban.
Among those announced artists performing in the popular annual event will be the newly reinstated duo Sin Bandera, the band Recoditos, Calibre 50, Chino y Nacho, Chiquis, CNCO, Farruko, Gente de Zona, Gerardo Ortiz, Gloria Trevi, Jesse & Joy, Luis Coronel, Maluma, Marc Anthony, Prince Royce, Thalia, Wisin, Yandel, Zion & Lennox.
Holding PLN will start at 7 pm ET / PT (6pm Central) where the nominees and to be presented at the show, along with other stars, the magenta carpet parade during the prelude program “Night of Stars “hosted by Chiquinquirá Delgado, Raul de Molina, Tony Dandrades, Daniela Di Giacomo and William Valdes.
