VETERAN NEW YORK CITY MEDIA EXECUTIVE SKIP DILLARD REAPPOINTED FOR 2ND TERM TO THE FCC’S EXPANDED “COMMUNICATIONS EQUITY AND DIVERSITY COUNCIL” (CEDC)

Skip Dillard has received a 2nd two-year appointment to the Federal Communications Commission’s board which includes a diverse group of representatives from across the media and technology industries.  

Dillard is VP of National and Community Partnerships for Mediaco Inc’s WBLS-FM and WQHT-FM in New York City. 

 “In honor of my many mentors and colleagues who’ve opened doors for me along my path, I’m thankful for every opportunity to help close the digital divide and increase the representation of people of color in media management and ownership.”

Skip Dillard  The broadened mission and focus of the Council is to make recommendations to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on advancing equity in the provision of and access to digital communication services and products for all people of the United States.

Under the current charter, the CEDC shall provide recommendations to the Commission on how to empower people of color and others who have been historically underserved, including persons who live in rural areas, and persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty or inequality, to access, leverage, and benefit from the wide range of opportunities made possible by technology, communication services and next-generation networks.
